Monofocal IOL
Designed to provide clear vision at one selected distance. You will need glasses to see your best across all distances.

Light Adjustable Lens
The LAL can be refined after cataract surgery with controlled light treatments, allowing the prescription to be customized after the eye begins to heal.

Laser-assisted surgery

Clear lens exchange / refractive lens exchange
CLE and RLE: lens-based correction before a cataract is visually significant.
CLE, also called RLE, removes the natural lens and replaces it with an IOL to address refractive goals. The surgical steps resemble cataract surgery, but the lens is removed for vision correction rather than because a cataract is impairing vision.
Because it is intraocular surgery and permanently removes the natural lens, candidacy requires careful discussion of benefits, limitations and risks.
Laser-assisted cataract surgery

A femtosecond laser can help create precise corneal incisions, open the lens capsule and soften the cataract. Laser assistance can support a customized plan, including astigmatism management in appropriate eyes.
It is not automatically better for every patient and does not eliminate the normal risks or healing process.
